MAP Hockey operates year-round in two phases, bridging the gap between training and competition. The program does not stop when the season starts.

Off-Season
(8 Months)

From the conclusion of the High School season through the Fall, with a flexible summer structure, MAP Athletes train inside a structured, progressive model that integrates:

  • Hockey IQ performance
  • Game situation training

In-Season
(4 Months)

During the 4 months of the competitive winter season, MAP Athletes stay connected to the program through:

  • Ongoing membership and guidance

  • Individual MAP Hockey IQ personalized game film analysis
  • Customized strength and conditioning plans

This integrated model ensures athletes are continuously developing, both on and off the ice.

MAP Hockey provides structure while allowing flexibility for athletes managing multiple commitments. Most players train approximately three days per week. Ice time is available up to five days per week for athletes who want to train more. Membership can be structured for each athlete.

Each on-ice session is intentionally designed to maximize development:

MAP Hockey’s full-time coaching staff brings professional playing and coaching experience at the highest levels of the game. These are not part-time instructors. These coaches have played professionally, coached at the college and junior levels, and have dedicated their careers to developing elite hockey athletes.

All MAP Hockey coaches complete a structured onboarding process covering our development methodology, communication standards, and video evaluation process. Every coach who works with your athlete is MAP certified.

Eligibility

MAP Hockey membership is open to male and female athletes across four campuses in the Twin Cities metro area and western Wisconsin.


The 2027 application window opens August 1, 2026 for players competing as 1st year Bantams and older during the 2026-27 season.

How To Apply

There is a two-step process to becoming a MAP Hockey Member for the MAP Season.
1. Apply

Complete the online application.

You will hear from our staff within 48 hours of receiving your application. All applicants will be notified of their status after they have been scouted by a MAP Hockey instructor.

2. Register & Purchase

All accepted players will be notified of their acceptance into the MAP Hockey program. A player’s spot is secured only after registration is complete and payment has been received.

Please note: Goalie spots are limited. MEGA Goaltending staff selects a maximum of 5 goalies per graduating class for MAP Hockey membership.

MAP Hockey, the Minnesota Advancement Program, is a year-round, high-performance training program for serious hockey athletes from peewee through post-high school. MAP Hockey operates across four campuses in the Twin Cities metro area and western Wisconsin.

MAP Hockey trains at four campuses:
