Alex Fossen

Alex joins the MAP Hockey training staff with a wealth of experience at the highest levels of junior and collegiate hockey. A Minnesota native, Alex navigated a successful competitive path that began with three seasons at Spring Lake Park High School followed by a senior season in Chicago with the Young Americans (AAA). His career continued into the USHL, where he was a key member of the Dubuque Fighting Saints’ Clark Cup Championship team. Alex then moved on to the NCAA Division I level, competing for four seasons at Clarkson University in the ECAC.

As an On-Ice Coach, Alex combines his elite playing background with a lifelong commitment to strength and conditioning. Having spent years assisting in weight room development and mentoring youth players during his time in the USHL and at Clarkson, he excels at helping athletes bridge the gap between off-ice power and on-ice performance. Alex is dedicated to teaching the habits and technical skills necessary for players to advance through the ranks of AAA, Juniors, and beyond.

Alex’s playing resume includes three years at Spring Lake Park High School (2009-2011), one season with the Chicago Young Americans U18 AAA (2011-2012), a Clark Cup Championship season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL (2012-2013), and four years of Division I hockey at Clarkson University (2014-2017).

In addition to his role as an On-Ice Coach, Alex has served as a Strength and Conditioning Mentor and guest instructor for various youth programs throughout his collegiate and junior career. His focus remains on developing the total athlete through disciplined training and technical skill refinement.
