Blake joins the MAP family after the end of his playing career. Born in Davenport, Iowa, he began his hockey career playing AA youth association hockey in the Quad Cities until competing at the Tier 1 AAA level with Team Illinois, Russell Stover, and Team Revolution. He went on to play high school hockey at St. Thomas Academy, where he competed in two Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournaments.
Following his high school career, Blake played junior hockey in both the North American Hockey League and the North American 3 Hockey League, spending time with the Janesville Jets, Coulee Region Chill, and Minnesota Wilderness. He then continued his playing career at the collegiate level, competing in five competitive seasons between Utica University and the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He finished his career playing professional hockey for the Fayetteville Marksmen of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).
In addition to his playing experience, Blake has spent some time in coaching and working with young hockey players. His coaching experience includes multiple summer camps, including Yuro Sk8 and Scott Pionk’s Northeast 218 Hockey Camp. He has also been a volunteer coach throughout his playing career, last with the Fayetteville Marksmen’s “Mini Marksmen” learn-to-skate program, providing young players with an introduction to the game and helping them develop fundamental skating skills.
Blake graduated with a B.S. in Sports Administration and a minor in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He currently resides in the Apple Valley, Minnesota with his family.
