Katrina grew up in Bemidji, Minnesota, where she started formal figure skating lessons at age 7. She trained under Zoe Hill with the Duluth Figure Skating Club and is a Minnesota State Figure Skating Champion. She was a competitive figure skater until age 17.
She attended Bemidji High School, where she was a standout soccer player and captain her varsity year.
Katrina attended Bemidji State University, where she played Div 3 soccer for the Beavers and earned a BS in Biology.
Katrina started her skating coaching career in Bemidji at age 19. At 25, she moved to Bellingham, WA, where she was a skating director for nine years before returning to Minnesota to teach skating in Minneapolis, where she has been for the past ten years.
Katrina is the power skating coach for Minneapolis, Mound Westonka, Hopkins, Delano, and Buffalo Youth Hockey Associations and also works with the Mosaic Hockey Collective program.
